Tight Reservoirs --Popular Targets & Huge Challenge
In recent years, tight reservoirs (<0.1-mD permeability) provide unique challenges related to exploration and production, Reservoir quality is typically poor due to deep-burial digenesis, resulting in significant compaction, cementation, and illitization. In China, the majority of the target zones have a permeability of 0.05-0.3mD. All oil wells completed in tight reservoirs require fracture stimulation and all kinds of new
techniques to achieve commercial production and to improve well productivity. and the tight gas and oil reservoirs have become popular targets in the world due largely to the increasing market demand for gas and oil also to technology advances used in extraction.
